1. Feel the quilt carefully inside and out with your hands. If one side has some quills while the other is extremely soft and smooth, it may be a fake down product made of acrylic cotton mixed with a small amount of down. If the quilt feels overly soft with no quills at all, it may be filled with crushed down. High down content brings a soft touch with few and small quills; large, hard quills indicate poor quality. Down has high compressibility – the higher the down content, the greater the compressibility. 2. Reputable manufacturers value credibility highly. Check the registered trademark, manufacturer’s name, address and down content marked in Chinese. If it feels good but lacks elasticity and cannot recover quickly after pressing, it may be mixed with other textile materials. Rough or grainy feelings indicate low-quality down. Gently patting should not release obvious dust; excessive dust means low cleanliness and is not recommended. Any strange odor also means it should be avoided.
